About Exploratorium

Each of our programs offer playful and creative opportunities for children, ages 5-14, to explore the world around them using a mix of science activities, art, group projects, games, our vast exhibit collection, and more. Our programs balance curiosity-driven free time with content-based activities that incorporate both structured and open-ended, self-directed learning. And, of course, we make it fun! My son LOVED the Exploratorium camp. His favorite part was the morning. Before the museum opened he was able to run around the museum, playing with the exhibits he liked. It was also nice that for the young kids, the session was two weeks long. After a summer full of moving from camp to camp, he liked being in one place for a longer period of time.

Just the fact that the kids have access to the whole museum for an undisturbed hour every day, is worth this camp. And they also get to go into the tactile dome on Fridays. The organization part is very together and the counselors have many interesting things ready for the kids. The 4pm finish time is more convenient than other camps. Location is not the best for most of the city, unfortunately.

My kids had a ball! I had two kids in camp. Every day when I came by to pick them up, they always asked to stay longer. They built things, launched things, made animations, carried out their own experiments, but their favorite thing was just hanging around the Exploratorium...a great hands-on science museum. I totally trusted the camp staff and they made drop-off / pick-up easy. We're going again next year!

Super camp for preteens/young teens. The Camp Director takes them on day long excursions through the Presidio mixing in history & science. Tons of exercise, morning time in the museum, outdoor fun, and just a great opportunity for this age group to feel engaged in something active. Highly recommended experience.

My 8-year-old loves everything about the Exploratorium camp. The feeling of having the whole museum to himself in the morning, the activities with the counselors, the other inquisitive kids, the way he got to explore every nook and cranny so it became "his place." Mary

The Exploratorium Camp has a great mix of structured and free choice activities, a beautiful facility, and wonderful staff. My daughter has been going for several years and feels like she owns the place. Her favorite memory was being able to pet the sea slugs - to each their own! Fred S
