About Girls on the Go
Daily field trips and weekly special workshops are at the core of the program! A positive, engaging, inclusive and fun environment for older girls, ages 9-13, is our goal. Learning how to safely access diverse destinations in San Francisco and the East Bay, by public transport, empowers the girls to get around without the need for a car. Choosing a small number of 22 for our group maximum, allows the girls to experience a more personal connection with the 2 counseling staff and the entire group. Weekly interactive workshops with women with special knowledge and talent in the arts, science, movement, and environment provide for extra fun and expose girls to opportunities for their lives. Drop-off and Pick-up point at Cedar-Rose Park in North Berkeley. Contact our office if you want specifics about a particular week, otherwise, it will be fun. Examples of field trips: Bowling, Mini-Golfing, Oakland A's Games, Zeum, Exploratorium, Boudin Bread Factory; Examples of Interactive Workshops: Slackline, Herbal Salve Making, Yoga, Needle Felting.
