About KMS Summer Day Camps
The Katherine Michiels School (KMS) has provided progressive, child-centered education to the San Francisco community since 1976. At KMS we believe summer should be FUN, and who knows more about how to have fun than kids! That’s why, our camps put kids in the driver's seat. While our experienced staff provide ideas, materials and guidance around each camp’s theme at morning meetings, it’s the kids who collectively plan out how they want the day to unfold.
The focus is on fun, creative expression, personal choice, collabaoration and exploration while learning in-depth about Spanish, Cooking, Science, Building, Gardening, Ceramics, Film-making, Writing, Drama and Outdoor Sports.
In alignment with the KMS philosophy of the importance of learning through exploration and interaction, campers will go out in nature, in neighborhoods, in shops, etc. around San Francisco and explore the worlds around them as well as the world’s of their own creation.
