About Penn Charter Summer Camps


Penn Charter Summer Camps provides exhilarating summers for children from age three to 15. Last year, children from 93 different schools attended our summer camps.

The seven-week Day Camp offers variety and excitement while building friendships and lasting memories. Swimming, tennis, cooking, science, archery, dance, team sports, art, music, a talent show and an end-of-camp fair are all part of this well-rounded program. Special themes, trips and guest performers vary the routine and keep the campers engaged.

Our one-week Varsity Camps provide personalized instruction designed to help develop the skills that produce outstanding athletic performances. Offerings include basketball, baseball and tennis. Under the leadership of Penn Charter’s varsity coaches, each program strives to provide a nurturing, challenging environment.

Campers enrolled in our one-week Enrichment Camp will spend the week engaged in fun, challenging and artistic activities that will stimulate their creativity. Activities may include cooking, chess, origami, world drumming, writing and creating digital music, fencing, dance, art, sports and games, science and engineering, and detective science.

Our seven-week Sports Camp features eight sports: basketball, soccer, flag football, lacrosse/field hockey, baseball/softball, team handball, floor hockey and swimming. Choice sports include tennis, archery, ultimate Frisbee, racquet baseball and pickleball. Daily instruction mixed with skill contests, game days and tournaments make this a perfect program for sports enthusiasts.

Our four-week Performing Arts Camp will be held in the new Kurtz Center for the Performing Arts. In addition to daily instruction in music, dance, drama and design, campers will enjoy weekly workshops with members of local theater companies and will have the opportunity to participate in a full-scale musical production.

Science Camp is inquiry-based, hands-on, discovery science fun. It features robotics and engineering, chemistry and rocket science, forensic science fest and outdoor science. Rec time, swimming and other camp fun are included.

Youth and Money Camp teaches how to save and budget money, write a business plan, earn money, gain sales skills, and engage in hands-on learning in the food industry. Swim and rec time included.

We offer on-site academic enrichment and tutoring for Day Camp, Sports Camp and Performing Arts Camp participants. Offerings include a readiness reading skills group (grades K, 1, 2), book club and individual tutoring in reading, writing, math, organizational skills and study skills.

Extended-day and transportation are available for most camps. Early-Bird Program: $5/day, $25/week. After-Camp Program: $10/day, $50/week. Snack and supervised activities included. Round-trip transportation is $100/week; one-way $50/week. Lunch is a new option this year: $5/day, $25/week.

Day Camp, Sports Camp and Performing arts Camp discounts: Families enrolling two or more children will receive a 5 percent family discount on the enrollment of the second and subsequent children. Campers who attend for at least three weeks and who pay in full by April 1, 2012, receive a 5 percent early-payment discount. Varsity Camp also offers a 5 percent family discount.
