Wheel Kids is an adventure and exploration summer day camp that uses bicycling as a means of transportation, personal development and fun.



We provide elementary school-aged children the opportunity to build confidence and self-esteem, improve their cycling skills and physical fitness, investigate and learn from their environment, engage in off-the-beaten-path activities, and enjoy themselves in an unstructured but supportive camp setting.



Children participate in daily bike rides on the San Francisco waterfront, weekly field trips within the greater Bay Area, cycling skills clinics, bicycle maintenance instruction and special events, visitors and tours.

 

We also provide a special program for kids in the K - 2 range who haven't learned to ride on their own yet: the Two Wheelers Club! This one-week program teaches aspiring cyclists to ride independently - free of training wheels! The Two Wheelers Club will meet weekly throughout June at the Wheel Kids clubhouse in Ft. My son loved this camp so much, that we are returning for a second session. The staff to camper ratio was great. Tim was very patient with the kids, taught them bike safety, and they had a great time. Riding over the Golden Gate Bridge was the highlight for my son. I felt very comfortable that he was safe under Tim's supervision.

My son really enjoyed this camp. He was a timid beginning cyclist at the beginning of the week and by Friday was shift gears and riding the streets of San Francisco. He learned important skills like changing a tire and caring for his bike. And he had fun. It was the perfect week of exercise and fresh air.
