The African American Art and Culture Complex (AAACC) is a community based arts and cultural organization. Our mission is to empower our community through Afro-centric artistic and cultural expression, mediums, education and programming. We are dedicated to inspiring children and youth to serve as agents of change, cultivating their leadership skills and fostering a commitment to community service and activism. In addition, we encourage, support and promote the work of young, aspiring Bay Area artists. The AAACC Youth Program is a year-round arts immersion program open to kids ages eight to 12 living in and around the Western Addition. Participants enjoy an eight-week summer program that concludes on with the District 5 cleanup (mandatory for all youth participants). Classes include Animation and Digital film-making (Streetside Stories); Painting and 3D Art; Costuming; Silk Screen; Graffiti and Film; Drama, Acting and Voiceover; and Dance (modern, Afro-Brazilian, Hip Hop.
