About Outdoor Explorers

Part of the Roughing It family of camps, Outdoor Explorers is a 1-week program focused on providing a wonderful outdoor experience for children 1st grade through 6th. We are located at the spectacular Lafayette Reservoir in the San Francisco East Bay, offering 900 acres of lake and hillsides to explore.

Daily group and choice schedules offer every camper a complete program of skill-based activities designed to develop outdoor skills and instill a love of the natural world.

Transportation included from 3 locations in San Francisco, the East Bay (Berkeley/Oakland/Alameda), 7 convenient spots in Lamorinda, and the 680 Corridor from Pleasant Hill to San Ramon.
