This is the "hidden gem" of Philadelphia dance schools. The year round program is small enough to allow students to benefit from top notch pre-professional training with personal attention and a staff that makes sure to know every family. Students are dedicated and inspired by this school year round. My daughter has received outside recognition for technique, artistry and musicality and owes it all to the faculty, many of whom are award-winning choreographers who teach here during the year and the summer. Hard work for upper levels, but still a sprinkler to jump in on the lawn outside and a favorite water ice spot across the street. Not to mention that the spacious studios are inside a 19th century building that really does look like a castle in a fairy tale!

PTD is wonderful! My daughter has been studying here for three years, since she was 7. The quality of instruction is consistently excellent. The teachers care deeply about the art of ballet and inspire even the youngest dancers to learn, grow, and challenge themselves to meet high goals. At the same time, the atmosphere of PDT classes and the broader setting is warm, respectful, and joyful. I am consistently impressed by the sense of community, purpose, and unity around love of this beautiful art form. I recommend this program as highly as I possibly can. It has given my daughter a rare experience f possibility, aspiration, and well-earned confidence.
